Born in 1972, I spent my formattable years in San Diego California, Ogden Utah, and Maui Hawaii before joining the US Navy Submarine Force and shipping out to sea from Bangor Washington. After nearly a decade of service, my adventures at sea gave way to vastly different sets of adventures working in local software and online marketing companies for the next twenty-five years.

I am a self-taught artist with foundational experience in drawing, relief printing, watercolor, acrylic, and oil-based painting. I paint daily from a small home-based studio in beautiful Snohomish Washington and am a member of Snohomish Art Community and their growing roster of local Snohomish creatives and community art events.

My artistic appetites gravitate to abstracted narrative/figurative pieces aimed at capturing my view of the world and people around me as well as pieces that intentionally stretch the truth. I also appreciate wrapping my head around patterns of geometric shapes and colors.

In my practice, I additionally explore the work other artists in small series of paint studies as both an homage to their amazing work but to also stretch my painting skills. Honestly, all the images I undertaken thus far have been way above my capabilities as an artist at the time. The exercises have proven to be the most frustrating and laborious part of my painting practice - but also the most instrumental in growing as an artist.

Hail the creatives!
