my studio

Born in 1972, I spent my formattable years in San Diego California, Ogden Utah, and Maui Hawaii before joining the US Navy Submarine Force and shipping out to sea from Bangor Washington.

I am a self-taught artist with foundational experience in drawing, relief printing, watercolor, acrylic, and oil-based painting. My own work tends to gravitate to narrative or figurative pieces, but also appreciate wrapping my head around abstracted geometric shapes.

My current area of focused artistic practice is a series of painting studies based on the fantastic photography of William Eggleston using a restrictive Zorn pallet and deliberate brushwork. While I still can’t yet achieve the colors and textures I wanted - the exercise taught me so many cool things to try out in future projects.

I currently paint from a small home-based studio in beautiful Snohomish Washington.
